Blue Golf in 6th out of 12 After Day One of George Phinney Classic

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Wellesley College golf is in sixth place following first round action at the George Phinney Golf Classic, hosted by Middlebury College at the The Ralph Myhre Golf Course.

DAY ONE FULL RESULTS

The Blue (333) are three strokes back of both Middlebury and Hamilton College, who are each tied for fifth (330). New York University and Amherst College each share a lead for first place, following a first round 313. Williams College holds sole possession of third place with a score of 316.

Junior Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) shot the low round for the Blue with an 82, which puts her in a tie for 21st. Senior Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) and sophomore Emma Lim (Naperville, Ill.) posted a matching 83 on the scorecard.

Junior Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and senior Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) both come in at tied for 39th after each fired a round of 85.

Final round play at George Phinney Golf Classic begins on Sunday at 9:00 AM.
