Blue Stand in 4th After Day One at Lyman Orchards

MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. -- The Wellesley College golf team stands in fourth place out of seven teams after the first day of the Wesleyan (CT) Invitational at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, Connecticut.

Amherst College (302) is atop of the leaderboard after day one. Jessica Huang (Auckland, New Zealand) and Gihoe Seo (Mercer Island, Wash.) each posted a low round of 75. In second place stands Williams College with a team score of 317. Tianyi Zhuang (Orlando, Fla.) set the pace for the Ephs with a team low 77. Just behind her was Malini Rudra (Syosset, N.Y.) and Catalin Yturralde (Lamesa, Calif.) each shooting a 78. Middlebury College is 12 strokes ahead of the Blue in third place after a round of 322.

Sophomore Emma Lim (Naperville, Ill.) shot the low round of the day for the Blue, coming in with a 81. Just behind her was senior Aine Kenwood (Potomac, Md.) who posted a solid 82 on Saturday. Fellow senior Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) came into the club house with a round on 84. Rounding out the scores was junior Kate MacVicar who shot a 90 at the Orchards.

Wellesley golf will complete the Wesleyan Invitational tournament at Lyman Orchards Golf Club tomorrow morning.
