Blue Golf Takes 4th at Wesleyan (CT) Invitational

MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. -- Wellesley College golf dropped two strokes from its score on day two to finish in fourth place (334-332-666) out of seven teams at the Wesleyan (CT) Invitational at the Par-72, 5,812 yard Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, Connecticut.

Williams (317-307-624) was the top team on Sunday but rival Amherst College (302-308-610) took home the tournament title after building a 15-stroke lead on Saturday. Amherst first year Gihoe Seo (Mercer Island, Wash.) posted matching rounds of 75 and Williams sophomore Tianyi Zhuang (Orlando, Fla.) carded rounds of 77 and 73 to tie for individual medalist honors with matching two-day scores of 150.

Wellesley seniors Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) and Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) and junior Kate MacVicar all finished Sunday with matching rounds of 82. Sophomore Emma Lim (Naperville, Ill.), who shot the low round of the day for the Blue on Saturday (81), finished with a round of 86 on Sunday. Senior Aine Kenwood (Potomac, Md.) who carded an 82 on Saturday posted a final round 96 for the Blue. Warburg (84-82-166) was the top finisher for the Blue on the weekend.

Wellesley returns to action on October 2-3 at the Williams Fall Invitational at Taconic G.C. in Williamstown, Mass.
