Wellesley Golf Stands a Tie for 7th After Day One of Williams Golf Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Wellesley College golf team sits in a tie for seventh place out of ten teams at the Williams Golf Championship played at Taconic Golf Course.

Amherst College (292) stands in first place after going 8-over as a team. Two players for the Mammoths shot an impressive even par 71. Williams College (300) is in second after all five members finished with a round in the 70s. Ten strokes behind Williams is NYU who shot a 310 collectively. 

Sophomore Emma Lim (Naperville, Ill.) was one of two players who finished with a sub 80 for the Blue, firing a 78. She recorded 11 pars and a birdie on the scorecard. Just behind Lim was Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) who shot a quality 79. MacVicar opened up her round with a birdie and remained steady throughout the day. Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) birdied three holes on the back nine to salvage a round of 83. Rounding out the scores for Wellesley were Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) with an 85 and Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) with an 87.
