Golf in Second Place After Day One of the NYU Invitational

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. -- After day one of the NYU Invitational at Forest Hill Club, the Blue stand in second place after firing a team score of 315.

Williams College holds first place, after going eight over as a team shooting a 296. Tianyi Zhuang (Orlando, Fla.) led the Ephs after a round of even par 72. In third place sits the tournament host New York University with a score of 321 and were led by Mimi Chen (Lake Mary, Fla.) who shot a 75.

For the Blue, junior Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) led the charge with a 77, including four birdies on the card. Two members,Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) posted a round of 79. Warburg shot a 42 on the front, but bounced back with a 37 on the back nine. MacVicar played a steady round with 12 pars on the scorecard. Just behind the pair was senior Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) who fired an 80, including a 39 on the back. Rounding out the scores for Wellesley was Emma Lim (Naperville, Ill.) with an 87 and Chansie Yang (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) with an 88 in her first appearance this season.

Round two of the NYU Invitational will continue tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM.
