Blue Golf Places Fourth at the Jack Leaman Invitational

BERNARDSTON, Mass. – The Wellesley golf team dropped eight shots as a team on Sunday to finish in fourth place 326-318 (644) at the Jack Leaman Invitational hosted by Amherst College.

After a strong Sunday, NYU won the team championship by four strokes over Williams with a 603 (+27). Tournament host Amherst took third place with a team score of 613. The individual medalist was Nalinda Wanikpun of NYU with a 147 (+3).

First year Norah Catlin (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) followed up her 74 on Saturday with a second round 80 to finish in a tie for eighth overall in her first collegiate tournament. Senior Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) was able to break 80 with a second round 79 (+7) and finished the tournament with a combined 160. Junior Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and sophomore Emma Lim (Naperville, Ill.) each followed up their first round of 81 by dropping a shot and firing an 80.

Junior Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) bounced back in a big way with an impressive 79 on Sunday and finished in a T-34 with a two-day 166. Senior Aine Kenwood (Potomac, Md.) finished the weekend with an 83-85 (168) to round out the scoring.

The Blue are back on the course for the Liberty League Championships starting on Saturday, April 30 at the Turning Stones Resort in Verona, N.Y.
