Caroline MacVicar Leads Blue Golf to Second Place Finish at Vassar College Classic

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Wellesley College golf senior Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) finished one shot back of the lead, matching a career-best with a round of 74 to lead the Blue to a second place finish on Sunday at the one-day Vassar College Classic at the Par-72, 5810 yard Casperkill Golf Club.

Caroline MacVicar finished tied for third (+2) on the individual leaderboard while Tiya Chowdary (Belle Mead, N.J.) of NYU and Olivia Strigh (Hammonton, N.J.) of Hamilton Collage shared medalist honors with matching rounds of 73 (+1). NYU captured the team title with an overall score of 306, followed by Wellesley in second (309), Hamilton in third (311), Trinity College in fourth (322) and host Vassar College in fifth (302).

Caroline MacVicar was one of three Wellesley players to finish in the top-ten. Sophomore Elizabeth Kim (Riverside, Calif.) finished tied for sixth with a 76 (+4) and Junior Emma Lim (Skillman, N.J.) was tied for ninth with a 78 (+6). Playing as an individual, sophomore Norah Catlin (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) finished just outside the top ten, taking a tie for 11th with a 78 (+7).

Rounding out the team scores for the Blue, junior Marilyn Fang (Beijing, China) finished tied for 16th with an 81 (+9) and senior Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) carded an 82 (+10). 

The Blue play next on April 15 when they host Bates and Bowdoin at Nehoiden Golf Club in Wellesley, Mass.
