MacVicar Tops Leaderboard as Blue Golf Hosts Bowdoin and Bates at Nehoiden

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Senior Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) finished three strokes over par to lead the field on Saturday as Wellesley College golf hosted Bates College and Bowdoin College in a Tri-Match at Wellesley's Par 72, 5,723 yard Nehoiden Golf Club.

Bowdoin topped the team leaderboard, finishing with a team score of 320. Bates followed with a mark of 325 and Wellesley was five strokes back of the Bobcats with a team mark of 330. 

MacVicar finished three shots ahead of the field with her round of 75 to lead Wellesley. First year Ashley Cong (Troy, Mich.) carded an 82 (+10) to finish in the top ten. Playing as an individual, Kate Kramer (Columbus, Ohio) finished tenth with a round of 83 (+11).

Sophomore Abby Luo (Guangzhou, China), first year Lucia Chen (Horseheads, N.Y.) and first year Roisin Averill (Windsor, Calif.) rounded out the team score for the Blue. Luo tied for 11th (86), Chen tied for 14th (87) and Averill was 18th (95).

Wellesley will take part in the Jack Leaman Invitational at The Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass., beginning at 1:00 PM next Saturday.
