Wellesley Golf Leads After Day One of Liberty League Championship; Kim and Kate MacVicar Tied for First
REXFORD, N.Y. - Sophomore Elizabeth Kim (Riverside, Calif.) and Senior Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) sit tied atop the leaderboard as Wellesley College golf had a great day across the board to control first after day one of the Liberty League Championship at the Par 72 - 5688 Yards Edison Club.
The Blue were just two strokes off of a program best round with a 304, as all five of their players shot within five strokes of par. Trailing Wellesley in second is New York U. with a 310, followed by Union (366), St. Lawrence (380), and William Smith (394).
Kim had four birdies en route to a 75 (+3) while K. MacVicar birdied the fifteenth hole to also card a 75. Only one stroke behind the duo was Union sophomore Elizabeth Bentsianov (Staten Island, N.Y.).
Across the board it was a successful day for Wellesley. Senior Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and juniors Emma Lim (Skillman, N.J.), and Marilyn Fang (Beijing, China) all shot a 77 (+5) to tie for fourth on the leaderboard.
The Blue look to continue their winning ways on day two of the Liberty League Championship beginning at 12:00 PM tomorrow.
