Blue Golf in Third After One Day of Jekyll Island Women's Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – Wellesley College golf sits in third place with a team score of 311 after 18 holes at the Jekyll Island Women's Invitational.

First year Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) shot a 75 (+3) for the Blue. Wang is currently tied for third among all student-athletes. Classmate Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) carded a 77 (+4) and is tied for 10th.

University of Redlands leads a crowded field of 18 teams with a score of 306. Sewanee is in second with 310, one stroke ahead of the Blue. Redlands senior Andrea York (Oakdale, Calif.) leads all individuals with a 73 (+1) after one day of play.

First years Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) (79), Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) (80) and Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) (81) round out the team competitors for Wellesley.

First year Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) is playing as an individual and recorded an 85.

Day two of competition takes place tomorrow starting at 9:30 AM.
