Wellesley Golf in Second After 18-Holes at Jack Leaman Invitational; Du Second Among Individuals

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College golf sits in second place out of 17 teams after the first day of the 36-hole Jack Leaman Invitational at the Orchards G.C. on Saturday. The Blue shot 300 as a team, only one stroke behind Amherst (299).

Wellesley first year Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) hit five birdies and carded a 71 (-1). Du is currently in second place out of nearly 100 individuals.

After Amherst and Wellesley, Williams is in third place with a team score of 306. Liberty League rival New York University is fourth with a score of 309. Amherst junior Jessica Huang (Auckland, New Zealand) leads all individuals with a 69 (-3).

Blue first year Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) shot a 73 (+1) on Saturday and is currently tied for fourth among individuals. 

First years Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) (77), Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) (79) and Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) (81) are all within the top forty to round out the Blue. 

First year Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) is playing as an individual and carded an 81 (+9) on Saturday.
