Blue Golf In Second After 18 Holes at Liberty League Championship; Du Tied for Second

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – First year Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) is tied for second place and Wellesley College golf is six strokes out of first after 18-holes at the Liberty League Championships. The competition is taking place at the Pinehaven Golf Club.

New York University leads the team competition with a score of 308. The Blue are in second with a score of 314. Ithaca (318), Vassar (346), Union (373) and Saint Lawrence (409) round out the team competition. NYU junior Nalinda Wanikpun (Bangkok, Thailand) leads all individuals with a score of 76 (+4).

Du put together a 77 (+5) to tie for second with three other competitors. Classmate Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) sits in a tie for sixth place after shooting a 78 (+6) on Saturday. First year Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) is tied for ninth place with a 79 (+7) through 18 holes.

First year Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) carded an 80 (+8) to tie for 12th place after one day of play. Classmate Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) finished with an 82 (+10) and is currently in 16th.

Day two of the Liberty League begins at noon tomorrow.
