Jackie Beck was named Head Golf Coach and PERA Assistant Professor of the Practice in July 2021.

 

In Beck's two years at the helm of Wellesley's golf program the Blue had back-to-back runner-up performances at the Liberty League Championship. In 2022-23 Beck and Assistant Coach Terry Crimmins were named Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year. The Blue have seen much success under Beck, including a program low 36-hole score (612 at the 2023 Liberty League Championship), winning the 2021 Bowdoin Polar Bear Classic and 2022 Bowdoin State of Maine Invitational, and having eight Liberty League All-Conference performances.

 

In the classroom, the Blue have received seven WGCA All-American Scholar-Athlete selections during Beck's time as Head Coach.

 

Beck is a Class A LPGA golf professional and teaches in the summer at The Country Club of New Canaan. Prior to Wellesley she was the Head Women’s golf Coach at Brown University and Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). At CCSU, Beck coached a Northeast Conference (NEC) Conference Rookie Player of the Year, two NEC First Team Conference selections, and one NEC Second Team Conference selection, while also leading the team to three consecutive Highest GPA awards among all sports teams at the university.

 

A graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Recreation and Administration, Beck was a four-year letterwinner on the varsity golf team, leading the Redbirds to the 1983 and 1985 Gateway Conference championships and the program's first NCAA appearance in 1983. A two-time All-Gateway Conference selection (1983, 1985) and 1985 Gateway Conference Champion, Beck was named to the six-member Gateway Conference All-Decade Golf Team in 1992 and inducted into the Illinois State University Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.

 

Beck is also a volunteer golf coach for the Special Olympics and First Tee in Connecticut.

 

Beck serves as an Assistant Professor of Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics (PERA) at Wellesley and teaches Golf, Badminton and Fitness Walking in the required physical education program.
