Four Represent Wellesley Lacrosse on 25 Year All-NEWMAC Team
WESTWOOD, Mass. - The NEWMAC announced the Women's Lacrosse 25 Year All-NEWMAC Team in recognition of the historic 25th Anniversary season. A total of 28 student-athletes have been recognized from the last 25 years, including former Wellesley College lacrosse student-athletes Kate Armenta '01, Claudia Veritas '02, Grace Tsan '03, and Loretta White '10. The honored team was voted on by the NEWMAC membership.
Armenta is second all-time in points and assists in Wellesley lacrosse program history with 255 and 81 respectively, and has the third most goals with 174. She had a single-season record 41 assists in 2000 while leading the Blue to their second ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Armenta was the 2000 NEWMAC Player of the Year and a two-time member of the NEWMAC All-Conference Team.
Veritas was a 2002 IWLCA All-Region First Team member, a 2001 ECAC Division III New England All-Star Second Team honoree, earned the 2001 NEWMAC Player of the Year award, and made two NEWMAC All-Conference Teams. Veritas was on the 2002 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team, the Verizon District I Academic All-America Second Team in 2002, and was awarded a NCAA Walter-Byes Postgraduate Scholarship following her graduation in 2002. Veritas has the fifth most points in a season in Wellesley lacrosse program history with 88 in 2001, and is in the top-ten in career assists with 51.
Tsan is Wellesley lacrosse's all-time program leader in points (259), goals (202), and ground balls (205), and ranks fifth all-time in assists with 57. Tsan was a 2002 IWLCA All-Region Second Team member, received 2001 ECAC Division III New England All-Star Second Team honors, was the 2000 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year, earned four NEWMAC All-Conference Team awards, and played in the North-South Senior All-Star Game in 2003. Tsan earned ECAC Scholar-Athlete recognition in 2002.
White was a three-time IWLCA All-Region honoree with First Team honors in 2008 and 2009, a three-time NEWMAC All-Conference First Team recipient, and a 2007 NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team member. White ranks fifth all-time in Wellesley lacrosse program history in ground balls with 144 and the Blue never missed the playoffs during her playing years, making the NEWMAC Finals in 2007 and 2008.
