Blue Soccer Cruises By Smith, 3-0
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Two goals three minutes apart lifted
Wellesley College to a 3-0 win over Smith College in New England
Women's and Men's Athletic Conference soccer action on
Saturday.
Wellesley improves to 7-6-1, 4-1-1 in NEWMAC play, while Smith

Playing in blustery wind conditions, the Blue took the lead just
eight minutes into the game. Kara

Cardoso, who fired past Smith goalkeeper Lindsey
Gregor.
Wellesley doubled the lead three minutes later, when Megan
Turchi looped a shot from 20 yards out past the
outstretched arms of Gregor. Patry would add a third goal for
Wellesley nine minutes from time.
Gregor made nine saves in net for Smith, while Wellesley's
Sarah Gray needed just one stop to
record the shutout, her fourth of the season.
Smith will host the US Coast Guard Academy on Tuesday, October 19,
at 4 p.m. Wellesley will welcome defending NEWMAC Champion,
MIT, also on October 19.
