Knowles Named with NEWMAC Soccer Offensive POTW

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College's Melise Knowles was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending September 15.

Knowles recorded four points in a 2-0 week for Wellesley, helping the Blue to their best start in over 10 years. The rookie opened the week by scoring the game-winner in double overtime as Wellesley handed Lesley its first loss of the season. Knowles then recorded a goal in the Blue's 3-0 victory over Regis on Saturday.

For the season, Knowles leads the Blue with three goals and an assist for seven total points. Wellesley is riding a four-game win streak with a 5-1 season mark.

The Blue back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Endicott for a 7:00pm non-conference match-up.
