Blue Soccer Ties with Emerson, 0-0

Boston, Mass. – Wellesley College soccer and Emerson engaged in a defensive 0-0 NEWMAC contest on Wednesday at Rotch Field.

Despite 16 shots on goal between the two teams, neither was able to find the back of the goal, with both team's keepers earning clean sheets for their respective teams.

Sophomore goalies Riley McNair (Cupertino, Calif.) and Sascha Fleesler (New York, N.Y.) combined for 13 saves for the Blue (3-4-5 Overall, 2-2-4 NEWMAC) and junior Amara Schaub (Torrance, Calif.) stopped three shots for the Lions (7-5-2 Overall, 5-1-2 NEWMAC).

Emerson outshot Wellesley 14-9. Senior Gina Lukoskie (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) put three shots on goal for Emerson while senior Thea Feldgoise (Brookline, Mass.) led the Blue with four shots. The Lions took seven corner kicks while limiting the Wellesley to one.

Each team will next compete on Saturday, October 21 at 1:00 PM. The Blue host Springfield and Emerson travels to Clark.
