Wellesley Squash Downs BC, Starts Season 2-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Wellesley College squash team moved to 2-0 on the season with a 9-0 sweep over Boston College on Saturday morning at MIT. The win gives the Blue a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2010 season.

Wellesley cruised to the victory by winning eight of nine matches in three games.

At the top of the line-up, senior Rosemary O'Connor picked up a 3-0 win, while at two, classmate Sara Del Balzo was also a 3-0 winner. At three, first-year Meera Nayar earned her second collegiate win in as many matches, picking up 3-0 victory.

At four, sophomore Gabriella Wynne took her match 3-0, while first-year Kelsey Burhans won her second career match, a 3-1 victory at number five. First-year Rhea Advani also picked up a 3-0 win, hers coming at six, while senior Haley Vasquez won her seventh flight match, 3-0. 

Wrapping up the ladder, first-years Navisha Gupta and Ruby Feng each won their matches 3-0, playing at eight and nine, while at ten, sophomore Kate Loftus won her exhibition match, 3-0. Junior Sarah Tammaro also recorded an exhibition win, taking her match, 3-0. 

Wellesley squash is back in action on Saturday, November 16th traveling to Williams College. The Blue will take on Williams at 12:00pm and then battle Hamilton at 6:00pm.
