Blue Squash Falls to Nationally-Ranked Foes

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Wellesley College squash team dropped a pair of tough matches against top-20 nationally ranked opponents on Saturday. The Blue opened the day with a 9-0 loss to #13 Williams College and then closed out action with a 9-0 loss to #20 Hamilton College.

Against Williams, two of Wellesley's players took their matches to four games. At number one, Blue senior Rosemary O'Connor kept her match close, recording an 11-7 win in the third game, but ultimately falling 3-1. Senior Haley Vasquez also kept her match close, winning the first game 11-7, but falling 3-1.

In the match against Hamilton, two more Wellesley athletes won games in 3-1 losses. First-years Kelsey Burhans and Rhea Advani grabbed wins in their fifth and sixth flight matches. Burhans grabbed an 11-8 win in her first game, while Advani won her second, 11-9. 

Wellesley squash continues its action packed weekend tomorrow. The Blue will face Connecticut College at MIT at 12:00pm.
