Blue Squash Closes Weekend with Sweep of Conn. College

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Wellesley College squash team wrapped up a busy weekend with a 9-0 sweep of Connecticut College on Sunday at MIT. The win improves the Blue's season record to 3-2, while the Camels dip to 0-2.

Wellesley won eight of the nine matches in three games, completing the team's second sweep of the season.

At one, senior
Rosemary O'Connor posted a 3-1 victory over Ashley Arthur, while at two, senior Sara Del Balzo was a 3-0 winner over Adrienne Sieverding. At three, first-year Meera Nayar was a 3-0 winner over Anne Holly, while at four, sophomore Gabriella Wynne also picked up a 3-0 win, taking down Madison Craft.

At five and six, a pair of Wellesley first-years also swept their matches, with
Kelsey Burhans topping Caroline Lippincott, and Rhea Advani defeating Kaleigh Tierney. 

Wrapping up the ladder, senior
Haley Vasquez was a 3-0 winner over Charlotte Novak at seven, Navisha Gupta won 3-0 over Kiersten Anderson at eight, and Ruby Feng defeated Molly Provencher, 3-0 at nine. 

Wellesley squash is back in action with three matches at the MIT Round Robin next Saturday and Sunday. The Blue will open with Bowdoin and Wesleyan on Saturday, and will play Colby on Sunday.
