CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Wellesley College squash went a perfect 3-0, capturing the Blue's second consecutive Seven Sisters Squash Championship on Saturday afternoon at Harvard University's Murr Center Squash Courts.

The Blue swept to 9-0 victories over Vassar College and Smith College in the round robin tournament before defeating Mount Holyoke College, 7-2, in a de facto championship match to close out the day.

Against the Brewers, the Blue took positions three through nine all thanks to 3-0 sweeps, including All-Tournament selection Gabriella Wynne's victory over Ellie Opdahl at number five (11-2, 11-3, 11-2).

In the number two match-up, Blue first year Phyllis Lin held off a late rally from Vassar's Isabelle Bertram to take a four game victory (11-4, 11-9, 7-11, 11-5). Blue number one Sarah Zhang then out-dueled Vassar's Hannah Nice in a five game match to complete the Wellesley sweep (8-11, 11-9, 6-11, 13-11, 11-8).

Nice, an All-Tournament selection, would get the better of Mount Holyoke number one Brandy Williamson in the Brewers' next match, an 8-1 defeat at the hands of Lyons. Nice also topped Smith's Jacqueline Zhou as Vassar earned a 6-3 victory in their final match of the day.

Smith's Zhou and Wellesley's Zhang then squared off in a five game match of their own, with Zhang winning the final two games to close out a 9-0 team victory with an 8-11, 12-10, 7-11, 11-4, 11-3 win. The Blue swept to 3-0 victories in the remainder of the match-ups with Smith.

Despite pushing both Vassar and Wellesley's number ones to five games, Zhou's lone victory of the day came in the Pioneers opening match, with a four game (5-11, 11-9, 14-12, 14-12) win over Williamson. However, Zhang's effort wasn't enough as the Lyons took an 8-1 team victory.

Both Wellesley and Mount Holyoke entered the final match of the day with 2-0 records, but in the end it was the Blue that earned the tournament title. Despite Williamson's victory over Zhang at number one (11-5, 11-9, 11-4), the Blue held on to take four 4-game victories and a 7-2 team victory. Wynne also earned a five-game defeat of Xianger Fei (10-12, 11-3, 1-11, 11-9, 11-3) to finish the day a perfect 3-0.

Wellesley will return to action on Wednesday night at Dana Hall School. The Blue will host Boston College for Senior Day at 7:00 PM.
