Blue's Sticco-Ivins Named NEWMAC's Diver of the Week for Seventh Time

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College swimming and diving's Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Diver of the Week for the period ending February 1, 2015.

Sticco-Ivins has now captured the award six times in-a-row and seven times this season. She was also named NEWMAC Diver of the Week on November 4th and 23rd, as well as on December 8th and January 11th, 18th and 25th.

Sticco-Ivins earned the top score on both the 1 and 3-meter boards in a dual meet with Bates on Saturday. In the 1-meter competition, she registered the top score of 285.95. She then dove to her second victory of the day on the 3-meter board, scoring 311.95 to lead a Wellesley sweep of the top-three spots in the event.

Sticco-Ivins and the entire Wellesley swimming & diving team will head to the Wheaton College Invitational this Friday and Saturday in Norton, Mass.
