Record-Setting Performance Helps Sticco-Ivins Earn NEWMAC Diver of the Week

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College swimming & diving sophomore Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Week for the week ending January 10th, 2016.

This is the fifth Diver of the Week honor for Sticco-Ivins during the 2015-16 season. She also earned the award for the weeks ending: November 8th, 15th and 22nd and December 6th.

Sticco-Ivins won the 1 and 3-meter events at both a Thursday afternoon tri-meet and a Saturday afternoon dual meet to help Wellesley go 3-0 this week. The Blue sophomore compiled a score of 282.55 on the 1-meter board before taking the 3-meter with a mark of 297.00 in Thursday's wins over Babson and Coast Guard. She then scored 311.40 to win the 1-meter, before capping off the week by breaking her own 3-meter school record with a score of 332.30 in a victory over Smith. 

Wellesley swimming & diving returns to the pool on Saturday afternoon, January 16, at MIT for a tri-meet with the Engineers and Tufts.
