Sticco-Ivins, Moore, Stern Named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected its Scholar All-America team for the 2015-16 season and Wellesley College sophomore diver Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) has been named a Scholar All-American for the second time. In addition, junior Maddie Stern (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Sophomore Emily Moore (Milwaukee, Wis.) have been named Honorable Mention Scholar All-Americans.

The CSCAA recognizes students that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships as Scholar All-Americans. Sticco-Ivins represented the Blue for the second time in as many seasons at the NCAA Division III Championships, earning All-American honors with a national runner-up finish on the 3-meter board, while also taking 11th place in the 1-meter competition. Sticco-Ivins advanced to the NCAA Championships after finishing first on both boards at the NCAA Diving regionals, hosted by Wellesley.

Honorable Mention selections have also achieved a GPA of 3.50 and competed at their respective diving qualifying meets. Stern and Moore both qualified for the NCAA Division III Diving regional. Stern finished in 16th place on the 3-meter and 13th place on the 1-meter, while Moore took 5th in the 3-meter competition and was 10th in the 1-meter. Moore was the region's first alternate for the NCAA Championships on the 3-meter board.

Wellesley achieved a 3.32 GPA as a team this spring, earning the program CSCAA Scholar All-America team recognition earlier this month.
