Wellesley Swim & Dive's Sticco-Ivins Set For Return Trip To NCAA Championships

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College swimming & diving junior Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) will make her third career NCAA Championship appearance when she represents the Blue at the 2017 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, March 15-18, at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas. 

Sticco-Ivins will open competition with three-meter diving trials on Wednesday, March 15. Trials begin at 11:00 AM EDT (10:00 AM CDT) on Wednesday, with three-meter diving set to be the final event during the morning session, following the conclusion of the 200-yard medley relay trials. Finals in three-meter diving will then take place following the finals of the 50-yard freestyle during the evening session, which begins at 7:00 PM EDT (6:00 PM CDT).

Action continues on Friday, March 17, as one-meter diving trials commence following trials for the 800-yard freestyle relay. The morning session on Friday also begins at 11:00 AM EDT (10:00 AM CDT), with finals to follow at 7:00 PM EDT (6:00 PM CDT). One-meter diving finals take place following the conclusion of the finals of the 100-yard breaststroke.

The 2017 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Year, Sticco-Ivins advanced to the NCAA Championships by winning both the one and three-meter NCAA regional titles on February 24 and 25 at MIT. Also the NEWMAC one and three meter champion in 2017, Sticco-Ivins has earned three-straight NEWMAC Diver of the Year honors, while sweeping the one and three meter titles at every NEWMAC and NCAA regional competition of her career.

This will be Sticco-Ivins' second career trip to Shenandoah, the site where she won the 2015 NCAA Division III three-meter diving national championship. Stico-Ivins has earned three CSCAA All America honors, as well as national runner-up finishes, in one-meter diving in 2015 and three-meter diving in 2016, while also being named the 2015 National Women's Diver of the Year.
