Blue Swimming and Diving Wins Sisters Invitational

HOLYOKE, Mass. - Wellesley College swimming and diving closed out a successful weekend by winning the Sisters Invitational at Mount Holyoke College Natatorium on Sunday.

The Blue won the five team competition with a total of 1160 points, followed closely by host Mount Holyoke with 1099. Smith (533.5), Simmons (459.5), and Western New England (314) rounded out the competition. 

Wellesley earned back-to-back wins with first year Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.) and junior Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.) winning the 200 Yard Backstroke and 100 Yard Freestyle events. 

First year Kavita Sekhon (Los Angeles, Calif.) recorded a first place finish in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:24.42. Sophomore Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.) followed this up with another top spot in 200 Yard Butterfly, swimming a 2:09.84. 

Senior Claire Moreland (San Francisco, Calif.) scored a 290 in one-meter diving to take third place for the Blue. First year Julia Reich also earned a third place finish in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with a time of 20:06.11.

The day ended with Wellesley's 4x400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of first year Aubrey Cantrell (Palo Alto, Calif.), Cai, junior McKaela Glanville (Menlo Park, Calif.), and Liu winning with a time of 3:44.65.

Wellesley will travel to Coast Guard next Friday evening for a 6:00 PM meet with the Bears.
