Damien Prohaska Announced as Assistant Tennis Coach

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Brian Kuscher, Head Tennis Coach and Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics (PERA) Associate Professor of the Practice at Wellesley College has announced the hiring of Damien Prohaska as Assistant Coach of the Wellesley College tennis team.

Prohaska joins the Blue after working as the admissions counselor and athletics liaison at Umass.- Dartmouth, where he managed recruitment and outreach across New England and the Mid-Atlantic region, among various other responsibilities. Prohaska also served as the graduate assistant men's and women's tennis coach from 2018-2020 at Regis College, where he evaluated recruits, organized social media campaigns, and developed weekly conditioning and on-court practice plans.

From 2012-2016, Prohaska was a four year member of the tennis team at SUNY Oneonta in Oneonta, New York. Prohaska was also named the team captain and finished his senior year with a record of 9-2 in singles matches, and 1-0 in doubles matches. 

Originally from Binghamton, New York, Prohaska earned his Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in mass communication and media studies at the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Oneonta. He then earned his Master's Degree in strategic and sports communication at Regis College in May, 2020.
