Blue Tennis Runs Win Streak to Four Against Mount Holyoke, 9-0

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Wellesley College tennis remained undefeated in New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) competition with a 9-0 win against Mount Holyoke on Saturday at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.

The Blue began by taking all three doubles' matches. Junior Cristiana DeAgazio (Winchester, Mass.) and first year Emilee Pak (Chicago, Ill.) earned a clean 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles while teammates junior Jennifer Fan (Vancouver, British Columbia) and first year Isabella DeAgazio (Winchester, Mass.) weren't far behind with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles. 

Wellesley juniors Annissa Mu (Saratoga, Calif.) and Melinda Alviar (Indianapolis, Ind.) overcome sophomore Annika Chai (London, England) and first year Jaskirat Kaur (Mohali, India) 8-2 at No. 1 doubles to sweep doubles for the Blue.

I. DeAgazio opened up singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win for Wellesley at No. 3 singles against first year Cal Smith (Bridgewater, Mass.). Shortly after, the Blue clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win from Alviar at No. 2 singles over Kaur.

Mu followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Chai at No. 1 singles followed by C. DeAgazio winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4.

Pak and Fan closed out the shutout at No. 5 and 6 singles with 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 victories.

The Blue will travel to Emerson on Tuesday for a 3:30 PM match. The Lyons will host Smith next Tuesday at 5:00 PM.
