Wellesley Tennis Wins 13 Matches on Day Two of Wellesley Invitational

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College tennis won 13 out of 16 matches as a team during day two of the Wellesley Invitational on Saturday at The Amy Batchelor '88, Trustee, Tennis Courts and Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.

Senior Annissa Mu (Saratoga, Calif.) won 6-3, 6-3 against Josephine Kimball (New York, N.Y.) and 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 against Angelina Shyltsyna (Odessa, Ukraine) of Trinity.

Blue Senior Melinda Alviar (Indianapolis, Ind.) earned a 7-6(7), 6-2 win over Shyltsyna before falling 6-2, 5-7, 10-3 to Kimball.

First year Michelle Yeo (Singapore) defeated Trinity's Ella Baker (Gladstone, N.J.) 6-1, 6-2 and won 6-3, 6-4 against Allie Francis (Westport, Conn.).

Wellesley first year Veda Madhusudan (Short Hills, N.J.) won 6-3, 6-3 versus Trinity's Elise Brennan (Valatie, N.Y.) and then beat Naisha Rathi (Westbury, N.Y.) 6-3, 2-6, 10-6.

First year Kriti Sarav (Chicago, Ill.) defeated Rathi 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 before winning 6-0, 6-4 over Johanna Woitschätzke (München, Germany).

Sophomore Emilee Pak (Chicago, Ill.) won with identical 6-0, 6-3 scores against Woitschatzke and Hellena Trojer (Reading, Mass.).

First year Lily Cade (Minneapolis, Minn.) defeated Trinity's Kennedy White (Golden, Colo.) 6-4, 6-1 before earning a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Phebe Fisher (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.).

First year Dalia Khera (Houston, Texas) fell 6-7(8), 6-3, 10-3 to Francis and lost 6-2, 4-6, 11-9 to Brennan.

Tomorrow is the final day of the Wellesley Invitational. Play begins at 9:00 AM.
