Blue Track's Cwik, Narvaez Compete at BU's John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. -- Wellesley College track & field seniors Isabella Narvaez (Cali, Colombia) and Sonja Cwik (La Cañada, Calif.) were both in action on Friday afternoon and evening at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University at the BU Track & Tennis Center. 

Narvaez competed in both of her top events on Friday afternoon, the 200m and the 400m. Wellesley's school record holder in each event, Narvaez took 22nd overall with a time of 57.94 seconds in the 400m, finishing second in her heat with the best time among Division III competitors in the cross-divisional meet. She then closed out the day with an appearance in the 200m, clocking in at 26.25 seconds to finish fifth in her heat and 65th overall.

Cwik took to the track in the evening, participating in the 3000m. The Wellesley senior took 38th place out of 60 runners, winning her heat with a personal record time of 10:18.87. Cwik's mark was good for third among the Division III runners in the field and was also the fifth fastest indoor time in the 3000m in Wellesley history. 

Wellesley College track & field will continue competition this weekend at the Tufts University Stampede on Saturday, January 28. Wellesley will get the day underway with Long Jump at 10:00 AM, with events on the track scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM with 60m Hurdle Trials.
