Myles O'Brien Joins Wellesley Track & Field Coaching Staff

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Phil Jennings, Head Track & Field Coach and PERA Assistant Professor of the Practice at Wellesley College, has announced the hiring of Myles O'Brien as Assistant Coach for the 2018-19 track & field season. O'Brien will work with the Blue throwers.

A 2018 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., O'Brien was a four-year member of the Crusader track & field program. A Patriot League Honor Roll selection, O'Brien served as team captain during the 2017-18 season and was the recipient of the team's Thomas Fitzsimmons Award for outstanding leadership. During his time at Holy Cross, O'Brien competed in weight throw, hammer throw, javelin, and shot put. 

The North Easton, Mass. native attended Boston College High School, where he was also a member of the track & field team and was named a scholar athlete in both 2013 and 2014. He graduated from Holy Cross with a degree in Economics. In addition to his commitment to track & field, O'Brien was an active member of the Student Program for Urban Development and an intern with the State Street Corporation while at Holy Cross.

Wellesley track & field will open the 2018-19 season on December 2 at the Smith Winter Classic.
