Ari Marks Breaks Wellesley Indoor Track & Field 5000 Meter Record at John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. –  Senior Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.) set a new Wellesley Indoor Track & Field record in the 5000 meter run at the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University on Friday. 

Marks clocked in at 16:38.21 and took third place overall and was top runner in Division III in the event. The number is currently the best 5000 meter run in Division III this season. Her time broke Mary Keenan's '17 record of 17:28.56 set in February of 2016. 

Junior Claire Anderson (Denver, Colo.) sported a 5:15.07 in the mile run to finish in 78th place out of 143 total runners. Also competing in the mile run was senior Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine) who finished in 5:20.70 to crack the top 100.

The Blue will compete on Sunday at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational hosted by Tufts University with a start time of 11:00 AM.
