Blue Track & Field Completes Day Two of Silfen Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wellesley track & field team earned a pair of top-10 finishes in day two of the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College on Sunday. 

Junior Kathryn Winkler (Bedford, Mass.) placed 10th overall in the 400 meter with an impressive time of 1:00.97 for the Blue. First year Aoife Fitzgerald was just a second behind and took 19th overall. WInkler also earned a top-20 finish out of 94 runners in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.69. Fellow junior Sally Richardson (Orono, Minn.) took 22nd at 26.88 seconds in the event. 

Sophomore Eriko Darcy (Chicago, Ill.) led the Blue in the 100 meter dash, taking 35th place and a time of 13.36 seconds. In 37th place was classate Taylor Quaye (Redondo Beach, Calif.) clocking in at 13.41.

Junior Ariel Traver (Palo Alto, Calif.) had an impressive showing in the triple jump with a mark of 9.13 meters and placed 10th overall. 

In the 400 meter hurdles, junior Dallis Kehoe (Norwell, Mass.) ran to a 10th place finish and clocked in at 1:10.57. 

First year Erin Dickinson (Omaha, Neb.) was the lone Blue competitor in the women's long jump and had a best mark of 4.60m to place 26th. Classmate Kiara Dozier (Honolulu, Hawaii) took 35th in the shot put with a finals throw of 8.68m.

The Blue will look ahead to the Aloha Relays in Bowdoin, Maine on Saturday, April 23.
