Laughlin Earns NEWMAC Player of the Week Honors

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College's Caitlin Laughlin was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending October 5.

The Blue's senior middle blocker hit .442 for the week, racking up 21 kills and five blocks while leading Wellesley to a 2-0 record. In a 3-0 win over Mount Holyoke on Tuesday, she hammered 11 kills and recorded one block while hitting .500 for the match. In a 3-1 win over regional #1 ranked UMass Boston on Friday night, Laughlin led the Blue with 10 kills and four blocks, while hitting at a .391 clip.

For the season, Laughlin has 127 kills and has also collected 35 total blocks in 55 sets played for the Blue.

Wellesley Volleyball will host MIT tomorrow night at 7:00 PM in NEWMAC action.
