Blue Volleyball's Carfagno Named to Fourth Consecutive All-NEWMAC First Team

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's volleyball award recipients and All-Conference team were announced on Wednesday and Wellesley College senior Sydney Carfagno was named to the All-Conference first team for the fourth consecutive season. 

A native of Los Angeles, California, Carfagno finished the year with a team-leading 365 kills while averaging 3.61 kills/set, the third-highest total in the conference this season. She also collected a team-leading 343 digs to go along with 33 service aces, 30 total blocks and 18 assists. 

In four years at Wellesley, Carfagno has helped guide the Blue to a NEWMAC regular season title, three Seven Sisters championships, and and an NCAA berth in 2013. In addition to her four consecutive NEWMAC All-Conference awards, she has earned the 2011 2011 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year award, two Seven Sister MVP awards, three consecutive all-region nods, and two straight all-American awards. 

Wellesley Volleyball finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 17-11 (6-4 NEWMAC), advancing to the NEWMAC tournament semifinals before falling to regular season champion MIT.
