Wellesley Volleyball's Li, Reece Selected to Play in NEWVA Senior All-Star Game

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College volleyball seniors Michelle Li (Scarsdale, N.Y.) and Yasmine Reece (New Rochelle, N.Y.) have each been selected to play in NCAA Division III New England women's volleyball NEWVA Senior Classic All Star Game and Skills Competition.

The event, sponsored by adidas and The Graphic Edge, will be held in the Lahue Physical Education Center on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass on Sunday, December 2. The skills portion of the event is scheduled for 10:30 AM and the game will take place at 12:30 PM. 

An honorable mention AVCA All-Region selection in 2017 and 2018, Li earned her first New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference honor in 2018 with a selection to the All-Conference Second Team. Li averaged a career-best 9.92 assists per set during her senior season, dishing out 833 assists in 23 matches. The Scarsdale, N.Y. native finished her Wellesley career with 3,539 assists 744 digs and 90 service aces and will leave Wellesley as one of the program's all-time leaders in assists, having averaged 8.62 assists per set over 404 career sets played.

A four-year New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference First Team selection, Reece was NEWMAC and AVCA New England Rookie of the Year in 2015 before going on to total 1323 kills and 352 blocks in 107 matches, ranking her sixth in Wellesley program history in kills. A three-time AVCA Honorable Mention All-America and All-Region selection (2015, 2017, 2018), the New Rochelle, N.Y. native was named NEWVA All-Rookie and Second Team in 2015. She was twice named to the NEWVA All-Region First Team (2017, 2018) and earned NEWMAC Athlete of the Week honors eight times in her career.

The New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) provides support for volleyball coaches from the New England Region. Membership in NEWVA is open to all Division III head coaches from the region that have a vested interest in the welfare of the organization.
