Wellesley put together a 7-1 scoring run, capped by a kill from Beeler, to open a 19-15 advantage, and then the Blue reached set point at 24-20. The Pride scored four unanswered points to tie the set at 24-24, but kills by first year Evelyn Hill (Rocklin, Calif.) and Giang gave the Blue the 2-0 match lead.

The Pride led 16-8 in the third set, but the Blue responded with an 8-1 scoring run to close to within one point at 17-16. Regis closed out the third set with a 6-1 scoring run, punctuated by kills from senior Ahnasia Mckinney (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Tenorio.

Regis took the lead at 9-7 in the fifth set and never looked back. After a kill by Giang kept Wellesley within two points at 12-10, consecutive kills by Mola created several match point opportunities for the Pride. Regis clinched the set and the match on a kill by Mckinney.

The Blue head to Clark for a NEWMAC match at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 14 while the Pride travel to Anna Maria for an 11:00 AM match the same day.
