WESTWOOD, Mass. - The 2023 NEWMAC Women's Volleyball Academic All-Conference Team was released on Friday. Among the honorees were four members of Wellesley College volleyball.

Selections must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2023 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Seniors Kate Salembier (Sierra Madre, Calif.) led the Blue with a third straight trip to Academic All-Conference Team. Juniors Mikayla Tansil (Warren, Mich.) and Rachel Xu (Beijing, China) both made the list for the second consecutive year and sophomore Kaija Kunze-Hoeg (Eagan, Minn.) was honored in her first year of eligibility.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) consists of 12 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Salve Regina University, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
