Boots Earns Second NEWMAC Weekly Honor

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Wellesley College sophomore Randelle Boots was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the period ending October 17, 2010.

Boots had an outstanding race at Vassar this weekend, winning the 2010 Seven Sisters individual title. The sophomore set a new course record, finishing the run in a time of 18:36. Boots bested a field of 87 competitors, as she led Wellesley to a second place finish at the event.

This is the second NEWMAC weekly honor for Boots, as she previously won the award on September 20th after taking second at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.

The Wellesley cross country team is back in action on Saturday at 12:30 as the Blue host the Wellesley Invitational.
