Ari Marks Wins Second Consecutive Race with First Place Finish at the Keene St. Invitational

SWANZEY, N.H. -- Wellesley College senior Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.) finished in first place with a time of 18:07.0 to lead the Blue Cross Country team to a second place finish at the 5K Keene State Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at the Cheshire Fair Grounds. 

Marks was the top overall finisher for the second consecutive race after earning a first place finish at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 18. Classmate Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine) joined Marks in the top-five with a time of 19:29.0, while senior Lily Herold was 12th with a time of 19:54.7. 

Junior Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.) and senior Kaylee Hill (Hingham, Mass.) were the final two scoring runners for the Blue. Murphy-Weise was 14th in 20:04.5 and Hill was 20th in 20:27.4. Senior Amy Tao (Hong Kong, China) added a time of 20:36.4 to take 26th, while sophomore Maddie Carrington (Morris, Minn.) was 34th in 21:03.8. 

Wellesley returns to action in two week (October 16) at the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn.
