Wellesley Cross Country and Track & Field Introduces Carolyn Todd as Assistant Coach

Carolyn Todd joins Wellesley cross country and track & field as an assistant coach

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Phil Jennings, Wellesley College Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach and Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Department of Physical Education, has announced the hiring of Carolyn Todd as Assistant Coach for the Blue cross country and track & field programs. Todd officially joined the Wellesley community on September 1, 2023.

Todd will work alongside Jennings to assist the cross country runners, and serve as an assistant coach specifically for distance runners on the track & field team.

A recent graduate of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., Todd received a degree in Strategic Communication and Environmental Studies. A four-year collegiate cross country and track & field student-athlete, Todd was an NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championship qualifier in the 5000m event and owns program records in the indoor 5000m and outdoor 10000m events. Todd was the 2022-2023 Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a four-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, and made four USTFCCCA All-Region Teams. Todd helped the Generals qualify for the NCAA Divsion III Women's Cross Country National Championship for the first time in program history in 2019, and later qualified as an individual in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Todd served as a Head Summer Track & Field Coach at Cumberland/North Yarmouth Community Recreation in Cumberland, Maine from 2016-2020 and as a Volunteer Assistant Distance Coach at Greely Middle School in Cumberland, Maine from 2015-19.
