Whinney Named NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

WESTWOOD, Mass. -- Wellesley College cross country sophomore Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) was named the NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending October 1, 2023.

Whinney won the Keene State Invitational this past weekend with a time of 18:32.7, over 10 seconds faster than the second place finisher, to help Wellesley earn first place as a team.

This is Whinney's third Runner of the Week honor this season, having previously won this season for the weeks of September 3 and September 17.

Next up, Wellesley competes at the Suffolk Invitational at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. on Saturday, October 14.
