Blue Cross Country Lands Eight on NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

WESTWOOD, Mass. - The NEWMAC announced the 2023 Women's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team on Wednesday. 101 student-athletes, including eight members of Wellesley College cross country, received the honor.

Selections must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2023 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Senior Aidan Reid (Malibu, Calif.) and junior Charlotte Adams (Cincinnati, Ohio) both earned a second trip to the Academic All-Conference Team. Sophomores Simone Beauchamp (Aurora, Colo.), Emily Brydges (Suffield, Conn.), Meg Dugan (Cohasset, Mass.), Claire Peng (Chapel Hill, N.C.), Olivia Torres (Coral Gables, Fla.), and Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) all made the team in their first year of elligibility.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) consists of 12 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Salve Regina University, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
