Wellesley Field Hockey Receives NFHCA National Academic Squad Honors

GILBERT, Ariz. -- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has announced the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad for the 2019 season. This year, 1,943 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions earned recognition, including four from the Wellesley College field hockey has earned Academic Team honors.

The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. Wellesley's honorees are (indicates number of years named to the NFHCA Academic Squad): 

Doyle, an International Relations and Economics double major, earns the honor for a third time, while Meader, an Environmental Studies major, and Sullivan, a Philosophy and Spanish double major were named to the squad for the second time. Rappaport earns NFHCA Academic Squad honors for the first time in her career.

Two Division III academic awards remain to be announced — the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Scholars of Distinction will be announced on March 25 and the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete will be released on April 2. The Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Team Award was announced on March 5.
