Hallstrom, Santos Named 2023 CRCA/Pocock Division III All-Americans

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College crew recent graduates Anneka Hallstrom (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Isabella Santos (West Hartford, Conn.) have been named to the 2023 Pocock Racing Shells All-America First Team.

Hallstrom and Santos each competed throughout the spring in Wellesley's Varsity 8+, with the duo also earning NEWMAC Rower and Coxswain of the Year accolades after leading the Blue to the 2023 NEWMAC Championship. Hallstrom and Santos went on to help the Blue Crew Varsity 8+ take second place at the New England Rowing Championship, first place at the National Invitational Rowing Championship and first place at the NCAA Championships, helping Wellesley to win the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championship.

Each year the coaches of the CRCA recognize the outstanding student athletes in each Division. Wellesley has now had 24 All-Americans honored since the 2006-07 season but this is the first time that the Blue have had two honorees on the first team.

Student-athletes must have rowed at least 75% of the season's races in the varsity boat and be nominated by the institution. Criteria considered for selection also includes: boat performance, nomination rank, coach's comments, individual achievements, and 2k erg score.
