This team became my chosen family at a time in my life when I needed a community, a direction, and a purpose. Being a member of this team has shown me that I am capable of pushing myself beyond what I thought my physical and mental limits were. It hasn't changed who I am, but rather revealed parts of myself that already existed.

My favorite memories are of "champ camp," before NCAA’s when the entire campus is empty, classes are over, it's sunny and warm, and I get to row all day with my closest friends on the Charles and on Lake Waban. I'm exhausted and constantly covered in sweat and dirt and sunscreen, and it's the happiest time of my life. My first year I remember it was so hot one day that we put the boats away and jumped off the Butler Boathouse dock into the lake. When we got out, we all went to Truly's for ice cream. To this day it’s one of my happiest memories.
