Wellesley To Host National Girls & Women In Sports Day Clinic on February 3, 2024

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College Athletics will celebrate the 38th Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) when the Blue basketball team hosts Salve Regina at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Prior to the game, Wellesley Athletics will host a pregame clinic for girls athletes featuring instruction in multiple sports from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM.

NGWSD is a nationwide celebration of the achievements of girls and women in sports and the positive influence of athletics in their lives. Wellesley Athletics believes in the power of sport to empower all people, including transgender women and girls.


Wellesley College NGWSD Clinic

  • Saturday, February 3, 2024
  • 10:30-12:30 PM (followed by Wellesley Basketball Game)
  • Keohane Sports Center, Wellesley College

Girls in Kindergarten - 6th grade (K-6) will have the opportunity to participate in a fun sports clinic alongside Wellesley College student-athletes and coaches. Check-in will begin at 10:00 AM in Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse inside the Keohane Sports Center at Wellesley College. The clinic will begin promptly at 10:30AM.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants must register to take part in the clinic. Parking will be available at Wellesley College.

Following the clinic, pizza will be provided for participants and we will host an autograph session with our varsity athletes. All participants will receive a Wellesley Athletics poster and are invited to stay and cheer on the Blue basketball team on Senior Day against Salve Regina.

Wellesley's girls sports clinic will return in 2024 for the first time since February 2020. The event is one of many events taking place across the country for National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The Day is devoted to recognizing the progress of girls and women in sports, and the benefits that sports and fitness activities can bring to the lives of all girls and women. The Day is organized nationally by the Women's Sports Foundation
