Join Friends of Athletics for "Earn The W: Challenges and Triumphs" Storytelling Event During Reunion 2024
Calling all storytellers! Join Friends of Wellesley Athletics for a night of storytelling to celebrate 50 Years of Varsity Athletics at Wellesley College during Reunion 2024.
"Earn The W: Challenges and Triumphs" will take place on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 7:30 – 8:30pm ET in Jewett Auditorium. A dessert reception will follow.
Not a professional storyteller? Never fear! This is NOT a competition. It's just for fun! Whether you're eager to tell a tale, or just listen, this will be a time to reminisce with friends and classmates and tell us how you "Earn The W." Friends of Athletics encourages participation from all reunion attendees — athletes, non-athletes, roommates, friends, coaches, faculty, and fans — as we celebrate 50 years of Varsity Athletics at Wellesley.
How to Submit Your Story:
Want to share your story? Great! We hope to hear you, Wellesley alums, share how the world of athletics, sportsmanship, competition, and community has played a role in your life, past or present.
If you enjoy listening to The Moth podcast we are aiming for something similar. Stories should be limited to five minutes in length and must be shared in person during our event. How you interpret our theme "Earn The W" is up to you. We simply ask that your story have some tie back to Wellesley. While your story doesn't need to be memorized, we ask that it be practiced. We will have storytelling "teammates" available upon request in advance of Reunion to help you prepare.
That's it! The stage will be yours, and the audience friendly. So, if you have a story to share, or know someone who does, please complete this form and let us know!
Please note, we will review all ideas and work to fit as many as possible into our program. For those unable to attend Reunion, the evening's program will be Live Streamed and posted to wellesleyblue.com/friends following the evening's festivities. If we receive more interest than time allows, we will also host stories in written or recorded form on wellesleyblue.com/friends.
