Wellesley Athletics Announces Hall of Fame Class of 2024

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- In celebration of the spirit and achievement of Wellesley scholar-athletes and those who have inspired and supported them, Wellesley College Athletics has announced Randelle L. Boots '13 (Cross Country and Track & Field), Kimberly Eaton '11 (Golf), Jenna Harvey Sinclair '08 (Softball), and JJ (Janet Jodi) Hanousek Larson '90 (Basketball/Lacrosse/Soccer) as the Wellesley Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

Wellesley's Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics (PERA) will host its biennial induction ceremony and dinner on the evening of Saturday, October 26, 2024. The event will take place at Tishman Commons, on the lower level of the Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center, as part of Friends and Family Weekend. Check-in will begin at 5:00 PM ET, with the program and dinner set to begin promptly at 6:00 PM ET.

Tickets for the Wellesley Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner are now on sale. Tickets are $100 for adults and $25 for children (12 and under). Admission to the ceremony includes salad, dinner, dessert and drinks. Wellesley Athletics Hall of Famer and Chair of the Hall of Fame selection committee, Liza Janssen Petra '94 will emcee the event, which will also include remarks from Wellesley College President Paula A. Johnson and Director of Athletics Bethany Ellis.

Randelle L. Boots '13 was the second Wellesley College student-athlete to ever claim an NCAA Division III National Championship, becoming Wellesley's first track national champion when she captured the 2011 Women's Indoor Mile Championship with a time of 4:57.46. A Wellesley record seven-time All-American at the conclusion of her career, Boots was simply dominant as a student-athlete in cross country and track & field, winning multiple regional cross country and track titles. She broke 15 program records at distances ranging from 600m to one mile and still holds Blue program records in the outdoor 1500m (4:23.34) and the indoor mile (4:49.22) and as part of the Blue's top Distance Medley Relay time in 2011. A two-time NEWMAC cross country Runner of the Year (2010 and 2011), Boots earned three NEWMAC All-Conference Team honors and three New England Division III All-Region honors in cross country and five All-New England Division III track & field honors, and the All-New England Intercollegiate track & field honors four times.

The 2011 National Golf Coaches Association Division III Golfer of the Year, Kimberly Eaton '11 is the most decorated golfer in Blue program history. Eaton finished her career as a four-time NCAA All-American and All-Region selection while earning four consecutive individual invitations to the NCAA Division III Championships. Eaton finished in the top-10 at the NCAA Championships during both her first and junior years and owns eight of the Blue golf program's 15 all-time individual tournament victories, having earned seven individual victories from 2007-2011, including three invitational (Jack Leaman, Vassar, and Dartmouth) victories during her senior season in 2011. In addition to her eight victories, Eaton also finished as an individual runner-up five times during her career.

The Blue softball program's all-time leader in wins (49), innings pitched (490.2), and strikeouts (768), Jenna Harvey Sinclair '08 was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American in both 2007 and 2008. The 2008 ECAC Pitcher of the Year and a two-time NEISCA Player of the Year, Sinclair also ranks in the top-10 in program history in games played (10th - 138) and runs batted in (7th - 81). She earned NFCA All-Region accolades three times in her career. Sinclair threw one perfect game and five no-hitters as a member of the Blue softball program leading the team to its first NEWMAC Championship in 2007 and NCAA appearances in 2007 and 2008, earning NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team honors in both years. The 2007 and 2008 NEWMAC Athlete of the Year, Sinclair was a two-time NEWMAC Pitcher of the Year award winner, earning three NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honors. From 2005 to 2008, the team had an overall record of 99-50-1.

The 1990 recipient of the Barbara Barnes Hauptfuhrer '49 Scholar-Athlete Award, JJ (Janet Jodi) Hanousek Larson '90 was a four-year member of the basketball and lacrosse teams before joining the soccer team during her senior year. "JJ" excelled in basketball and lacrosse and still ranks 11th all-time in Blue basketball program history with 1,022 points scored from 1986-1990. In addition, Larson is the Blue lacrosse programs all-time leader in save percentage as a goalkeeper (.659). In 1989-90, she was selected to the NEWMAC Basketball All-Conference team. The same year In lacrosse, she was named a 1990 Honorable Mention Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association National All-America (IWLCA) after earning IWLCA All-Region and NEWMAC All-Conference selections following a season during which she posted a save percentage of .658, still the best mark in a season in program history.
