FH Seniors Gruet, Peterson Play in NFHCA Senior Game

WELLESLEY, Mass. — Wellesley College field hockey senior co-captains Meghan Peterson and Nathalie Gruet participated in the annual Victory Sports Tours / National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Senior Game on Saturday, November 22 at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA.

During an outstanding career in Blue, Gruet earned first-team All-Region honors for three straight seasons and was named the 2013 and 2014 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and New England East Regional Player of the Year. The Acton, Mass. native was also selected to the NEWMAC first team for four consecutive seasons while earning the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year Award in 2011. 

Peterson, a native of Glastonbury, Conn., was twice named an NFHCA All-Region first team selection. The 2014 NEWMAC Championship Tournament Most Outstanding Player, she was named to two consecutive NEWMAC All-Conference first teams in 2013 and 2014. 

Gruet and Peterson represented Wellesley Field Hockey's Class of 2015 that also included: Alex Azzi, Becky Hamilton, Lallie Lukens and Dana Marks. The Class of 2015 led the Wellesley field hockey team to a 59-24 record over the past four years. The Blue qualified for the NEWMAC playoffs in each season, winning back-to-back championships in 2013 and 2014 and advancing to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in both 2013 and 2014.
